The village recently approved an agreement with Dynegy Inc. for the electrical aggregation program which will run through December 2021 at a rate of 7.487 cents per kWh. There is no cost for enrollment and you will not be charged a switching fee. Residents may also choose a 100% renewable option at a rate of 7.570 cents/kWh by contacting Dynegy.
One of the benefits of the aggregation program is price stability. For most, but not all of the program's history, the village's rate has been the lowest offer available. Recent media reports have communicated that ComEd's price to compare through May 2019 will be 7.292 cents per kWh. ComEd’s variable price to compare changes frequently and fluctuates by as much as +/- 0.5 cents/kWh each month due to their Purchased Electricity Adjustment.
Please note this rate is for energy supply only. ComEd will continue to deliver electricity to your home or business and bill you for the same. Those ComEd delivery charges are the same regardless of whether you purchase your electric supply from ComEd or participate in the aggregation program. This sample ComEd bill highlights and explains where the supply and delivery charges show up on your bill.
